Today we had a day out in Baltimore. We were both really impressed by the city, I'm sure it's got it's bad bits (Chris watches The Wire!) but the Inner Harbour area was lovely. There are loads of restaurants around the waterfront but they are mostly chains so we walked to Little Italy and had some amazing shrimp and pasta in a more local place. We'll be back in Baltimore next month to watch The Orioles baseball team, we drove past the ground today and it looks great.

Slow Boat from UK
Last week our 'Heavy Baggage' arrived from the UK. It had taken 2 months to get from Solihull to Washington so we were very excited about it's arrival. Our apartment is already furnished but the most eagerly anticipated items (by Chris) in our Heavy Baggage were Chris' Xbox 360 and Playstation 3. How Chris has survived without these I don't know! We had decided to bring over our TV as Chris had done some research on the internet beforehand to check that it would work and he was convinced that it would. The last few days have been spent sorting out solutions to get everything to work and anyone that has been waiting for Chris to get back online will be glad to know it's finally working!

Annapolis
We finally bought a car last week so at the weekend we wanted to get out and about and drive somewhere. We decided to go to Annapolis which is the state capital of Maryland. It takes about 40 minutes to drive there but it felt like we had gone much further because it's completely different to DC. We've been used to the hustle and bustle of the city but Annapolis was such a cute, little town, it reminded me of Padstow in Cornwall. It's home to the US Naval Academy so there were sailors everyone you looked. We had a wonder around and then had lunch at a lovely seafood restaurant. The area is renowned for it's crab cakes so Chris tried the crab cake sandwich and I had fish and chips. Not quite the same as British fish and chips but still pretty good.

We missed out on British Pancake Day a few weeks ago so we found a pancake shop and here is Chris enjoying a S'mores pancake, stuffed with chocolate and marshmallows mmmmmm!
