Annapolis

We finally bought a car last week so at the weekend we wanted to get out and about and drive somewhere. We decided to go to Annapolis which is the state capital of Maryland. It takes about 40 minutes to drive there but it felt like we had gone much further because it's completely different to DC. We've been used to the hustle and bustle of the city but Annapolis was such a cute, little town, it reminded me of Padstow in Cornwall. It's home to the US Naval Academy so there were sailors everyone you looked. We had a wonder around and then had lunch at a lovely seafood restaurant. The area is renowned for it's crab cakes so Chris tried the crab cake sandwich and I had fish and chips. Not quite the same as British fish and chips but still pretty good.

We missed out on British Pancake Day a few weeks ago so we found a pancake shop and here is Chris enjoying a S'mores pancake, stuffed with chocolate and marshmallows mmmmmm!
