Snowpocalypse!

The local news over here have nicknamed this storm "Snowpocalypse" or "Snowmageddon", it's been one of Washington's biggest snow storms of all time. By the end of Saturday, we had over 20 inches of snow. Most of the locals here have never seen a storm like this so on Saturday afternoon we'd had enough of sitting inside and went out with the camera to take some photos. Quite a few other people were doing the same as us, wanting to record the historic storm.

The snow eventually stopped late on Saturday afternoon but the city is still at a bit of a stand still. Chris has been told not to go into work today because the roads are still quite bad. There are no buses running and the metro is only running a limited service from the underground stations. We went out to watch the Superbowl last night, we only needed to go one stop on the metro and had to wait nearly an hour for a train. Still it was better to wait than try to walk through the snow in the dark.
