Oregon coast

After our morning in Portland we headed for the beautiful Oregon coastline.

We stopped off at quite a few places on our journey down the coastal road including the Devil's Punchbowl.  We were a bit disappointed by the punchbowl, I'm guessing it's more interesting when the tide is in or when the sea is rough but there were no waves swirling and churning around like we thought there would be!

We spent the night in a beachfront motel in Newport before spending a second day traveling further down the coast.

On the Saturday morning we stopped at one of the deserted beaches and I was very excited to see my first starfish in the wild.

A little further down the coast we stopped to watch some seals.  There were some seal cubs following their mummies around which was so cute.

We stopped off at Oregon Dunes for a short hike which felt a lot further than the couple of miles than it was supposed to be.

Our last stop along the Oregon coastline was the town of Bandon.  We had another beachfront motel with a great view of the beach.  There were lots more seals hanging out on the rocks...
